First and most important …we believe that all of these are enabled and given by God!
Whether learnt, developed or instinctually born with, God is behind all of it. The Bible tells us that we are all born with distinct talents and gifts that set us apart from each other. When we discover that which God has uniquely gifted us and we use it to glorify Him, we then experience a purposeful life.
The skills and knowledge that we develop from learning institutions is often up to our effort. Just as God provides a tree and then he leaves it up to us to learn how to turn that into furniture! He provides the Seed and then we have to water and nurture the seeds as He grows them into plants, flowers or fruit.
Even with our innate talents that God provides, we have to develop them by putting them into practice, nurturing and applying them in our lives and the lives of others.
Our favorite analogy for how we work with God in the development and application of our Gifts is with the growth process of a plant.
In this article we will share some insight into how we view our Gifts as a plant. We focus on the plant thriving, but we know what happens when a plant is neglected, not nurtured with Discipline, consistency and with patience. When we do not apply Discipline when nurturing a plant just as we nurture our GIFTS, they do not grow or bear fruit. We do not enjoy the benefits of having the Gifts that God gave us. We miss out on living in our purpose and finding success.
